Course Overview

Are you passionate about a career in the public services sector? Would one of these jobs be your ideal employment - Police, Fire brigade, Ambulance service, armed forces, security and many more. 

These career paths are strongly government funded/backed and are essential roles in society.

This one year study programme will give you the opportunity to develop skills and experiences that will help you to pursue a career in the uniformed services.The study programme will allow you to participate in a wide variety of activities, such as outdoor pursuits, fitness training and team building events. You will gain valuable insight from current and former uniformed services employees. You will also have the opportunity to meet working members of the uniformed services.

In this exciting course, you will develop transferable skills such as teamwork and communication. You will be given opportunities to speak with a variety of employers and investigate the opportunities available for further study, apprenticeships and other avenues of employment.

Assessment Methods

This is a BTEC and comprises two externally set exams and 4 further internally assessed assignment briefs.

Progression

This is a level 2 course that will enable students to progress on to level 3 courses if they choose to. Additionally, successful students can progress on to career paths including armed forces, emergency services and security jobs.

Progression to level 3 courses available to further study and offer opportunities for higher level apprenticeships within the career paths.
