Course Overview

Have you ever wondered what it might be like leading tours of international locations? Maybe you’d like to combine your skills in performing arts/ childcare/ sports and become a holiday rep for a family holiday destination? Or how about working with clients to plan their ultimate vacation, making sure every detail is taken care of to make their trip as memorable as possible? Sound like you? Then the tourism industry might be the perfect fit.

The course is designed for students who are interested in the exciting world of Travel and Tourism and would like to progress on to Level 3 or an apprenticeship after completion.  

You will learn about the UK's travel and tourism destinations,international tourist destinations, business and technology for the travel industry and plan a study visit for a group of students. 

In this exciting course, you will develop transferable skills such as teamwork and communication. With Luton airport on our doorstep, this course will open the doors to one of the world's largest employment industries, both locally and worldwide

Assessment Methods

This is a BTEC and comprises two externally set exams and 4 further internally assessed assignment briefs.

Progression

This is a level 2 course that will enable students to progress on to level 3 courses if they choose to. Additionally, successful students can progress on to career paths including travel agents, tour operators, hotel receptionists or airline customer services. 

Travel and Tourism can lead to a wide range of other careers in the areas of event & hospitality management, wedding planning, travel agencies, public relations, travel journalism and tourism marketing.
